TRADITIONAL WING CHUN KUNG FU (Yip Man Lineage)
Wing Chun is a Chinese martial art. A distillation of the all the
best, most effective techniques from the Shaolin Animal Kung Fu Styles
(namely Snake and Crane). It was designed specifically to focus on
close range combat and practical self defence. Being one of the world’s
most devastating “combat” arts, Wing Chun is a practical, intelligent,
applied science. Since
1993 Sifu Peter Aktin has trained under some of the World’s Best Wing
Chun Masters. Principally Sifu Joe Molnar, he has also studied under
Master David Cheung and Grandmaster William Cheung. Three direct
Generations from Yip Man, Sifu Peter teaches Wing Chun with passion and
a total confidence in the system’s usage and effectiveness. At
the Eastern Kung Fu Academy our class structures and grading syllabus
are all standardized to give the student a clear view of their journey
from the very beginning. THE FOCUS OF THE EASTERN KUNG FU ACADEMY’S WING CHUN KUNG FU•
The focus of Wing Chun is to make a more efficient and effective
martial artist through constant practice and due diligence. • To use intelligence instead of brute force to overcome confrontations or problems. • To achieve power through economy, technique and body alignment. • To conserve vital energies and continue on our way forward. • Ultimately to understand the Wing Chun method of offense and defense. • To better ourselves and help those around us in our families and communities.
Wing
Chun
is about progression of mental and physical abilities. Wing Chun
principles are centered mainly on economical use and effectiveness. To
use the right amount of energy, rather than the maximum to achieve a
goal.“The original idea of Wing Chun was the ability to deflect and
strike simultaneously. Wing Chun is about efficiency and an economy of
energy while still being totally effective in its’ intent. We focus on
being direct in combat with no mucking around. To get the job done
quickly and ferociously.” Sifu Peter WING CHUN FORM TRAINING / SHADOW BOXING (Sequence of techniques in a set pattern) Sil Lim Tao Form Advanced Sil Lim Tao Form Chum Kil Form Bil Gee Form Wooden Dummy 108 move form (Three variations: Shadow boxing, on the Wooden Dummy and the Two Person Form) Butterfly Sword Form Empty Hand Butterfly Sword Form All applications and principles are applied to all forms in training and grading.
